About Us
Cute AF Clothing was dreamed up one summer around the kitchen table, where all good ideas are born.
I'm Canadian born and bred, but have been living in Scotland for the last eight years. I work full time in the legal sector, but have always felt that my calling was in the creative world. I am an aspiring interior designer (my fiancé can attest to our home being a continuous creative project), wannabe painter, and lover of the ballet and figure skating (I was a competitive figure skater into my teenage years).
When my best friend began having children in Canada, I would scour the internet to find Canadian made, eco-friendly gift ideas for her little ones. I have always been conscious of the impact clothings purchases have on both the environment and the workers who make them, and prefer to support local economies where I can.
However, when friends began having children in the UK, I found it near impossible to find locally made children's clothing which also used sustainably sourced fabrics. In a fashion very true to myself, one day when looking at onesies online from a large retailer, I thought, "I could make that".
My grandmother was a seamstress and had briefly taught me to sew as a young girl. Though my skills were rusty, I jumped straight back into the love of sewing. I love watching an outfit come to life, and the satisfaction of creating something for my loved ones.
Fast forward to that summer morning sitting in my parent's kitchen, showing off the cutest pair of matching toddler dresses I had made to date; Cute AF was born. Cute Clothing, by Alanna Fockler.
As my fiancé and I are beginning to plan our own family, our ethos has been to only create and sell clothes that we would put our own children in; beautifully made, soft to touch, eco-conscious clothing.
